Social Studies 8- Early Chinese Civilization Test (Part I)
Hi guys,
Don't forget that you have a test on Tuesday, December 11.
Here is the test format:
Part I- Definitions- study your terms list!
Part II- Short Answer
Part III- Paragraph Answer- You will either need to compare the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, or two different Chinese philosophies.
** Study all of your chapter three notes (China's first two dynasties and the three philosophies).
** You can also refer to chapter three of the textbook.

Language Arts 7- Test Reminder
Language Arts 7-
Don't forget that you have your Fish test this Friday, December 7.
Here is the test outline and paragraph description:
Part I- Matching
You will need to match the name of a character with an event associated with that character. Don't forget to take a look at minor characters as well as the major ones.
Part II- Short Answer
These will be related more to our class discussion and work than to the quizzes, however reviewing the quizzes would be a great way to refresh yourself on the book's events.
*topics will include- setting, characterization, symbolism, and plot
Part III- Paragraph Response
*** I am expecting at least two paragraphs, with specific examples supporting your ideas.
Here is the writing prompt, as discussed in class:
What do you think the theme, or the big idea of the novel is? What message do you think the author wanted to communicate to the reader? Why do you think this is the message?
